About Christchurch

Christchurch is a great place to live, work, play and do business with a population of nearly 400,000 making it the largest city in the South Island of New Zealand. And the third most-populous city behind Auckland and Wellington.
Although the Christchurch region was severely challenged by two significant earthquakes in September 2010 and February 2011 and thousands of aftershocks, its resilient population is committed to rebuilding a vibrant, unique and exciting city.
